Promises, the Malibu rehabilitation center where Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan have sought treatment, moved staff members and about 18 patients.

"We evacuated Sunday morning before the order came because the conditions there were very frightening," Promises founder and CEO Richard Rogg told The Associated Press on Tuesday. "The power went out, the winds were blowing at hurricane force and you could see flames coming over the mountain top."

Rooms were booked for patients in an "upscale hotel" near the Promises facility in west Los Angeles, where staff members "regrouped and tried to keep the schedule going as normally as possible," Rogg said.

Singer and actor Robert Goulet is heavily sedated and breathing through a respirator in a Los Angeles hospital while he awaits a lung transplant, his wife told The Associated Press on Tuesday.

Robert Goulet is awaiting a lung transplant in a Los Angeles hospital.

"He can hear me but he can't respond," Vera Goulet said of the 73-year-old crooner.

Vera Goulet said doctors told her the lung transplants are the most successful operation of any transplant, with a success rate of 88 percent. A suitable donor has yet to be found, she said.

"God willing, if we proceed with this, our doctors feel that there's no reason he will not have at least 15 years of life doing what he does, going back on stage and singing," she said. "That's very encouraging."

The singer fell ill when flying home to Las Vegas after performing at a September 20 concert in Syracuse, New York, his wife said. Doctors initially assumed it was some kind of bug, but he got weaker until he had to be rushed to the hospital 10 days later, she said.

Goulet was diagnosed with a form of pulmonary fibrosis that his official Web site described as a "rapidly progressive and fatal condition." He was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles as a transplant patient October 13.

Speaking by phone from the hospital, Vera Goulet said doctors inserted a breathing tube down her husband's throat and sedated him, and that they were last able to speak two weeks ago.

"He said, 'Just give me a new pair of lungs and I'll hit the high notes until I'm 100,' " she said.

"I told him I loved him. He told me he loves me. He was ready to have the tube inserted. And he said, 'Just watch my vocal cords."' The couple's 25th wedding anniversary was October 17.

Meanwhile, she said, fans and performers have been calling and e-mailing from around the world, including comedian Jerry Lewis, actress Suzanne Somers and singer Harry Connick Jr., she said.

"Tony Orlando called and said, 'Give him a punch in the stomach for me,' " she said.

Goulet, born to French-Canadian parents in Lawrence, Massachusetts, has won acclaim for a Broadway career that took off after his debut performance as Sir Lancelot in "Camelot" in 1960. Goulet's multiple appearances on "The Ed Sullivan Show" helped make him a star.

Goulet won a Grammy Award in 1962 for Best New Artist and a Tony Award in 1968 for his role in "The Happy Time."

Over the years, Goulet continued to perform onstage.

Pop diva Britney Spears’ lawyer has indicated that she is currently having a tough time dealing with frustration, which has sprung from her custody battle with former husband Kevin Federline.

Laura Wasser revealed this while she was talking to reporters outside the courtroom, after another hearing of her case on Friday.

"(She) just wants to be a mom," People magazine quoted Laura Wasser as saying.

"I believe this is a frustrating time for her," she added.

She, however, did not divulge details about what was discussed at the hearing.

When asked whether Britney’s frustration could be due to the negative reactions to her appearance last Sunday at the MTV Video Music Awards, Wasser said: "Yes. I think she just wants to be a mom, and both of her kids' birthdays are this week, and I think she would've liked to celebrate with them without having to worry about the entire nation - the entire world - being concerned about what's going on with her personally and her custody battle with Mr. Federline."

The attorney was resistant to accept the suggestion that Britney tried to offer Federline a settlement, which he was reluctant to accept.

"I don't believe that's true. They met and are trying to work it out so they don't have to have a judge make determinations for them regarding their kids. I don't know that he was resistant or she was resistant. They are both trying to work to come up with something together," she said.

Federline’s attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan, on the other hand, said that his client was faring well.

When Kaplan was asked whether Britney’s recent public appearance was hindering her case, he said, "I don't know what thing you are referring to, and I'm not going to talk about any strategy. I think how she is doing is something for her attorneys to address."

Simpson Accuser Now turn 'On O.J.'s Side'

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A sports memorabilia collector who accused O.J. Simpson of armed robbery said Saturday that he was "on O.J.'s side" and wants the case dropped.

"I want this thing to go away. I have health problems," said Alfred Beardsley, the collector who told police on Thursday that Simpson and several other men stormed a Las Vegas hotel room and stole memorabilia at gunpoint.

Beardsley, of Burbank, Calif., told The Associated Press he is not interested in pursuing the case.

"I have no desire to fly back and forth to Las Vegas to testify," he said. "How are they going to have a witness who's on O.J.'s side?"

Beardsley said he called police only because the items were valuable and if he had not reported them as stolen he would be "held accountable for all the stuff." Beardsley said Friday that Simpson had called him to apologize.

Lt. Clint Nichols said later Saturday that Beardsley had not formally withdrawn his complaint and that another collector in the room, Bruce Fromong, had not indicated that he wants to drop the complaint.

Earlier, Las Vegas police said they were questioning one of the three or four men who were thought to have accompanied Simpson to the hotel room. No arrests had been made and police were still trying to determine what took place before Simpson left the room with memorabilia he says was stolen from him, Nichols said. Police think a weapon was involved and want to review hotel surveillance tapes.

Simpson told The Associated Press on Saturday that he did he did not even consider calling the police to help reclaim personal items he believed were stolen from him, because he has found the police unresponsive when he needed help ever since his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman, were killed in 1994.

"The police, since my trouble, have not worked out for me," he said, noting that whenever he has called the police "It just becomes a story about O.J."

"I'm at the point where I don't rely on the police and this is not a police issue anyway," he said, expressing hope that it will soon be resolved.

Simpson, 60, said he was just trying to retrieve memorabilia, particularly photos of his wife and children. There were no guns and no break-in, he said.

As police try to determine what happened in the hotel room, they must unravel the contorted relationships between the erstwhile athlete and a cadre of collectors that has profited from his infamy since the slayings of his ex-wife and Goldman. He was acquitted of murder in 1995, but was found liable for their deaths in a civil case.

Fromong considered Simpson a close friend. Beardsley had collected Simpson items for years.

On Saturday, Simpson declared: "None of these guys are friends of mine."

Attempts by the AP to reach Fromong on Saturday were unsuccessful.

Simpson, who lives in Miami, said he expected to find the stolen items when he went to an arranged meeting Thursday.

The man who arranged the meeting, according to Simpson, was another man who makes a living on the fringes of the celebrity.

Thomas Riccio, a well-known memorabilia dealer, made headlines when his auction house, Corona, Calif.-based Universal Rarities, handled the eBay auction of Anna Nicole Smith's handwritten diaries.

Simpson said Riccio called him several weeks ago to inform him that people "have a lot of your stuff and they don't want anyone to know they are selling it," Simpson said.

Along with the personal photos, Simpson expected to find one item in particular: the suit he was wearing when he was acquitted of murder.

It's not clear where they got the suit, but Beardsley, a former real estate agent and longtime Simpson collector, and Fromong had been trying to sell it for several months. They'd recently tried eBay and the celebrity gossip Web site TMZ.com.

Simpson said Beardsley and Fromong were attempting to profit off personal items including the wedding video from his first marriage.

In an interview with TMZ.com, Beardsley noted that during the alleged robbery in the hotel room Simpson appeared surprised the pair were the ones selling the items.

"Simpson was saying that 'I liked you, I thought you were a good guy,'" Beardsley said.

Simpson accused Mike Gilbert, a one-time associate, of stealing the items from him. He said he believes Gilbert stole items from a storage locker once held in Simpson's mother's name.

Attempts to reach Gilbert by phone were unsuccessful.

As Simpson's licensing agent in the late 1990s, Gilbert admitted snatching Simpson's Heisman Trophy and other items from his client's Brentwood home as payment for money he said was owed to him. He later turned the items over to authorities, save the trophy's nameplate.

Gilbert swore he'd go to jail before turning the nameplate over to the Goldman family, which was trying to collect on the $33.5 million civil judgment it won against Simpson. Gilbert later surrendered it under court order.

As questions swirled around the curious cast of characters and their mysterious meeting, media scrutiny and public interest that has dogged the fallen athlete was in full swing.

By Saturday afternoon, Simpson's new book, "If I Did It: Confessions of the Killer," was the top seller on Amazon.com.

None of the men will profit from the book's sales. After a deal for Simpson to publish it fell through, a federal bankruptcy judge awarded the book's rights to the Goldman family.

Well i heard this name many time but who is taio cruz, may be some friend or someone near to Britney Spears

There are several things people are saying about Taio Cruz, some of which are actually true:

1) He is "the new Craig David"
2) He recorded Umbrella before Rihanna, then had it stolen from under his nose by Jay-Z
3) History does not record why he was keeping the song under his nose, which is an area of the face better suited for sporting a moustache
4) He has been making music with troubled singer Britney Spears
5) Not that kind of music, you understand
6) Although who is to say he isn't acquainted with Spears' crusty duvet?
7) After all, she is hardly very choosy these days
8) By the way, crusty duvet isn't a euphemism for Britney's lady flower
9) Anyway, Taio also wrote Will Young's naff-o-rific Your Game single
10) He is "the new Babyface," says Dallas Austin
11) Taio's new single, Moving On, is hovering just outside the Top 40
12) He is not enamoured with the UK's urban music scene, and recorded his album in the US
13) Ironically, he does not enjoy CSI: Miami, preferring the home-grown charms of ITV's The Bill
14) Taio's favourite shapes are the oblong and the paralellogram

Britney Spears Rehearses For The VMAs ?

Now i think all you know this rumors that Britney Spears would be making her triumphant return at the big show.

The slow and steady build kicked off with murmurs of magician Criss Angel's mysterious involvement and shady "quotes" taken from even shadier inside sources, then went into hyperdrive when Brit's performance was confirmed Thursday (see "Britney Spears To Open 2007 MTV Video Music Awards: It's Official!") and she actually showed up in Las Vegas on Friday, ready to rehearse (and take a spin in Angel's Lamborghini, apparently).

But that constantly building buzz didn't hit its absolute zenith until Friday afternoon, when Brit single-handedly shut down the Palms Casino Resort to actually rehearse her performance, an event that brought the paparazzi out in droves, had the Las Vegas police patrolling the casino floor and warranted flagrantly misspelled signs (see "Exclusive: Inside Britney Spears' VMA Rehearsal") to keep potential spies out.

Of course, the lucky few who possessed the necessary clearance to make it through security witnessed a supercharged, super-sexy Brit hungry to silence her many detractors and reclaim her spot atop the pop mountain (see "Britney Spears' New Single Gets Club-Tested In Vegas"). But just what did her rehearsal look like? Well, we're about to show you ... it's an exclusive so big, you can't see it anywhere else: footage of Spears working her way through the routine for "Gimme More."

And really, there's nothing more to say ... like she exclaims herself in the song, "It's Britney, bitch."

Had this set of pics featuring Megan Fox from Transformers and given that the movie is coming to IMAX on Sept 21st it seemed to be good timing to feature them in a Fri Pic collection.

When Transformers first opened - I was baffled that they didn't have it on the IMAX... the one movie that SHOULD be on the IMAX wasn't... and I'm sure geeks were disappointed world round. So it's about time they corrected that mistake.
